It feels a little like Christmas!

On Saturday, we went to see what Christmas was looking like downtown. We found some decorated Nutcrackers...and some Chinese people...















We also saw the Gingerbread Village - this one is London's Big Ben.














They were amazing - this one even had a drawbridge that moved up and down!




Last night, we visited the lights at the Botanical Garden - pretty nice!

Da-Da Turns 25...

Well, not quite but he's young at heart :) Last week, Cashew starting saying Da-Da - just in time, as a birthday present to Spidey. Happy Birthday Da-Da!





















We were going to go out for steak but Spidey decided last minute he wanted to stay home - which was just as well. Spidey ended being really busy at work and came home pretty late. Plus, we had our first snow and it felt cozy to stay in! Fortunately for us, Grandma K cooked a special meal for Spidey.















Hmm, what do we have here? Now who could these shoes belong to? Looks like matching father-daughter shoes. For his birthday, Spidey decided it was time to crack out the new shoes.





















Introducing the new Nike models - Spidey and Cashew in their blue jeans and Jordans. It was close to bedtime so you'll have to excuse Cashew's somewhat stunned expression. We didn't catch her at her prime photo time. Or maybe it was because she wasn't wearing socks and her feet were getting hot?

Happy Thanksgiving! We were at Rodney and Lily's house to celebrate. They already had their tree up! Gee, this tree towers over me. Where'd the train go?

What a special Thanksgiving. All the Kams together finally - it's been a while - over a year! Thanks to Uncle B and Auntie M for coming from TO - yippee, they'll be on the west coast soon too.

Grandparents Galore!

You lookin' at me? Hey, I'm liking this sitting up thing. I use my abs and back muscles to hold myself up. I'm pretty stable on my own although every now and then I tim--ber! It's okay, doesn't hurt - and then I just roll around to another position.










This weekend we had both sets of my grandparents with us! Grandma and Grandpa W stopped by on their way back from Oregon. It's probably been a month since I've seen them. It was great fun having everyone together. Hope y'all come back soon!











Finally, Grandpa K arrived from Toronto to come visit me. Grandma and Grandpa K say it's colder here than in Toronto - really? Well, look at their big coats! I'm not totally comfortable with Grandpa K yet though - I can recognize that he hasn't been here before. But, by the end of his 10 day visit, I'll probably be having lots of fun with him. He likes to play with me and I give him 5, 10 15, 20....

Sushi in Seattle?

Sushi! She brought her parents here to visit - I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself!

Grandma K's Birthday

Okay, let's go - I got my new outfit on to surprise Grandma K - she gave it to me a couple weeks ago. It's for someone 12 months but hey, it seems to fit okay right?

Exciting Times

So, Jocie and I finally got to see each other after Dim Sum last time. For variety, this time we met for Italian. It was fun seeing Jocie smiling and pulling her bug. She's a cutie pie. We had a nice time celebrating Uncle Sam's birthday - sorry we had to miss out on the cake - I was really tired and had to get home. Look at your proud mommy in the back. :) Take care girl and I'll see you again soon! Let me know if you wanna hang out and let your parents go out ;)

This Sunday, I saw Auntie S. again - she's been so nice to me, knitting me pretty hats. Now that winter is coming, I'll be wearing them even more. I also have another Auntie who likes to knit - this yellow hat is from Auntie E. - isn't it perfect for this outfit? Thanks Uncle H. and Auntie S. for my coordinated outfit. What pretty fall colours!


What am I wearing? Good question. You know Sully from Monsters, Inc. ? Well, this is my silly parents' rendition of that character. Grandma had good chuckle at my outfit - was pretty fun seeing other kids dressed up. My hat was used for collecting candy which I have yet to taste...hmmm....

Rollin' Rollin'

Aha, I got it! Time to listen to my radio. It only has three stations, well, actually only three songs, but hey, I'm easily satisfied. So I think I'm going to see Jocie tomorrow - looking forward to it! It's been awhile girl - how you been? :)

My first post

It's been a hard day's work getting this together. I'm not even sure if I'm doing this right - Jocie and Noah tagged me - but here goes:

1. In the mornings when I wake up, I secretly lie there awake so my mommy and daddy don't know how long I've been awake.
2. When I go to bed at night, I can be put to bed awake and fall asleep until the next morning!
3. I rub my head on my pillow so much that I have an attractive bald spot on the back of my head. My uncle Thomas saw it on the webcam and thought I had a bad haircut.
4. When I talk too much, I choke on my saliva and get the hiccups.
5. Sometimes I cough to get attention.
6. I stretch out my arms and legs and scrunch up my face after a good sleep.
7. One of my past times : I like to watch people eat - is that what it's called - eating?
8. Make a noise and I'll crane my head to see where it's coming from.
9. In my exersaucer, I suck on the giraffe ears and bear ears. Well, right now everything is going into my mouth.
10. To entertain my parents, I will roll over from my back to my stomach.
11. I've recently taken to jumping. My physical therapist told me I have good extension.
12. I'm learning to play piano.
13. Fun: flying like SuperMan, being thrown in the air, having hot hair blown on my chest.
14. I usually suck my right thumb, but sometimes, the left one's good too.
15. I like to scratch my head and my right thigh and pull my ear.
16. During storytime I help my narrator turn the pages.
17. Coughs and sneezes all startle me - they used to make me cry but now I just blink.
18. I have timely blowouts which are usually after a new diaper and clean clothes.
19. I have a memory foam pillow which keeps my head nice and shapely.

Cashew meets Sushi

Wow, it's a month and a half since Grandma Kam came to visit us. She's been such a great help! She's been cooking us delicious meals and looking after Maddie while Spidey and I are at work. We're so grateful to have her here.

Cashew is doing well - at her last checkup she was 90th percentile for weight! She is growing at a good pace and doing some new tricks. Instead of stuffing all her fingers in her mouth, she has now mastered just inserting her thumb. She can even curl her fingers so they don't spread across her face now :) She loves to watch people and know what's going on - she'll crane her neck to see something if she hears some rustling across the room. It's so fun to see her respond to us - if we smile at her, she'll smile back. Also, we've figured out what kind of things make her squeal with delight or laugh out loud. She loves it when Spidey burrows his face into her chest and blows hot air. We can also get a reaction out of her by doing things related to height drops - seems she's somewhat of a daredevil - she laughs if you throw her up into the air, when you fly her like Superman or if you bounce her on her feet on the floor. Last Friday at HF, she rolled over twice from her back to her tummy! It was the first time we saw her do it - yahoo!

Cashew's been a great helper, here she is carrying her milk to go home. We were at GrandmaLu's for five days. It was great - we got to play tennis - Pushi and I were trounced by GrandmaShi and Spidey - but we'll back for revenge - ha ha ha. Actually, I think next time it'll be ladies vs. men. This past weekend, Cashew hung out with her cousin Sushi. We are so happy to welcome her into the world and so excited that the two of them can grow up together. Cashew is actually wearing Sushi's new jacket - how sweet of her to lend it to Cashew! Sushi is already exhibiting a generous heart. Here are three generations of the ladies!
